Melissa Wallace (Moore) and Aaron Mimms (Gosling) have hated one another since they were children. In elementary school Aaron would destroy Melissa’s dolls and she would kick sand into his face. In middle school Aaron would pull her hair and Melissa would pants him every chance he could. High school was even more vicious, but they finally got to take a break from one another once they went off to college. Four years later and Aaron is returning to the small coastal town for good, much to Melissa’s dismay. Aaron’s younger sister Lana (Solo) and Melissa’s little brother Grayson (Miller) became formed a close friendship while attending school together and their siblings had been away. Growing tired of their bickering and fighting the two pull together in order to teach their older counterparts a lesson, that they might just have more in common than they expected.

Calvin Welsh (Cavill) is your average Joe. He has an average job and an average relationship with his wife Vanessa Welsh (Wilde). Private detective Vinny Ricci (Ackles) has been investigating a string of recent murders in the Chicago area, victims both male and female, all connected by a night club called Incubi. As the victim count begins to grow, Vinny befriends a survivor, a young girl by the name of Connie (Ventura). With her as a witness Vinny presses forward with his investigation leading him to a main suspect, a young woman that works in the club. Meanwhile, Calvin is becoming suspicious of his wife’s sudden aggression and jittery behavior and runs into the detective one night while following her to work. Hesitant at first, Calvin takes Vinny up on his offer of help and the two men work together to find out what connection his wife has to the crimes.
